More than athletes

Toronto, ON - On Friday, April 15, the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club will continue their 2005 Hospital Tour. The 2005 Hospital Tour began on March 19, when Colin Doyle, Phil Wetherup and Bob Watson visited McMaster Sick Children's Hospital in Hamilton. This week, Rock players will visit North York General Hospital's North Wing and Toronto East General Hospital. Rock Captain Jim Veltman, veteran forward Matt Shearer and rookie Jimmy Quinlan will arrive at North York General at 12:30pm and will then visit Toronto East General at 2:30pm. The hope is that these players' visit may be able to lift the spirits of children by bringing them face to face with some of their NLL heroes. "We're happy to take part in a program like this that reaches out to children that are in the hospital. If we can put a smile on one child's face then that makes the visit worthwhile." Jimmy Quinlan, Toronto Rock Forward.

The players will spend time talking with the children, playing games and signing autographs; providing the opportunity for the children to get to know these professional athletes on a personal level.
