NEW HOPEFULS HIT ROCK TURF

Preparation for the 2010 Toronto Rock season began yesterday with the first of four tryout camps. Non-rostered players and those selected in the National Lacrosse League Entry Draft this past September suited up at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario in hopes of impressing head coach Troy Cordingley.

Cordingley and the rest of his bench that include general manager Terry Sanderson, John Lovell and Matt Sawyer will evaluate the over 30 men invited to attend the camp.

Those who make it through the four tryout dates will be invited to the Toronto Rock main training camp that kicks off on Saturday, November 28.

Toronto’s final 23-man roster will be announced in late December, and the team will take to the turf to open the 2010 NLL season in Boston on Saturday, January 9 when they battle the Blazers. The Rock head home to Toronto with Boston in tow for their home opener at the Air Canada Centre on Friday, January 15.
