ROCK HIRE ASSISTANT COACHES FOR 2010 SEASON

The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club announced the hiring of John Lovell and Matt Sawyer as assistant coaches for the 2010 season.

Joining head coach Troy Cordingley behind the bench, both Sawyer and Lovell bring with them a wealth of lacrosse knowledge and experience, including a season with the Toronto Rock.  Both were part of the coaching staff when the Toronto Rock won the NLL Champions Cup in 2005 led by Terry Sanderson, who was head coach at the time.

Sawyer is currently the head coach for the Orangeville Northmen Junior A team of the Ontario Lacrosse Association.

Lovell, who will work with the Rock’s offence for the upcoming season, acts as assistant coach alongside Sawyer in Orangeville.

Sanderson, the Rock’s GM is pleased to have both Lovell and Sawyer on board for the upcoming season.

“Both gentlemen have a remarkable record with their local teams and they complete the coaching staff alongside Troy,” said Sanderson.

The Toronto Rock 2010 season schedule is expected to be released early Fall.
