ROCK PRE-SEASON SCHEDULE

The Toronto Rock are pleased to announce their upcoming pre-season games as the 2011 National Lacrosse League regular season rapidly approaches.

The Toronto Rock will leap into exhibition action looking for a rocky mountain high on Saturday, December 4th at the Pepsi Center in Denver against the Colorado Mammoth at 7pm.  This marks the first time since the Mammoth’s inaugural season in 2003 that the Rock will play in Denver.

The game in Denver will give the Rock players and staff a great head-start on different aspects of preparations for the 2011 season.

“The new guys will see what the National Lacrosse League is all about getting to experience the travel,” notes Rock General Manager Terry Sanderson.  “This will give us a great opportunity to get started on some team bonding and building team chemistry.”

From there, the Rock pre-season schedule will see Toronto play a pair of exhibition scrimmages at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena (ILA) in Six Nations, Ontario.  The ILA will also serve as the home of the entire Toronto Rock training camp.

On Wednesday, December 15th at 8pm, the Rock will face one of their biggest East Division rivals, the Buffalo Bandits.

Sunday, December 19th the opponent will be the Minnesota Swarm at 1pm.

“A lot of guys practice well, but these scrimmages are huge in determining who stays and earns those last few spots,” says Sanderson.  “Our staff puts a lot of emphasis on how the players perform in the real game situations they will experience in the scrimmages.”

The two pre-season scrimmages in Six Nations at the ILA will be open to the public and there will be no charge to attend the games.

The Toronto Rock will open up their rookie and free agent camp on Wednesday, November 17th at the ILA.  Saturday, November 27th will be the first day of main camp.

The Rock open their 2011 regular season at home on Saturday, January 8th at the Air Canada Centre against the Edmonton Rush at 7:00pm.
