Rock Sign Brenden Thenhaus

Toronto - The Toronto Rock have signed Forward Brenden Thenhaus to a one-year agreement.  Thenhaus was on Buffalo's practice roster and after the Rock signed the offensive righty to the one-year agreement, the Bandits then had 24 hours to match the offer and place him on their active roster or lose his rights to Toronto.  The Buffalo Bandits did not match Toronto's offer and Thenhaus is now a member of the Toronto Rock.

To make room on the active roster, Blaine Manning has been moved to Injured Reserve after breaking his collarbone in Saturday's loss to Buffalo.  The veteran forward had never missed a game in his pro career and is currently expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

The five-year NLL veteran Thenhaus enjoyed his best pro season in 2009 while playing for the Boston Blazers accumulating 53 points.  He has also played for Edmonton, Philadelphia and Buffalo during his NLL career.

The Rock will be off this weekend and return to action next week when they host the Rochester Knighthawks on Friday, January 27th 7:00pm at Air Canada Centre on Bachly Construction Night.  For tickets, please visit www.torontorock.com or call 416-596-3075.

I think what was more upsetting than the loss to Buffalo was the loss of Blaine Manning.

He can't be replaced and I am glad you didn't use that word when describing the acquisition of Thenhaus, who is a decent acquisition.

It was a very depressing weekend.

Since the Rock have made a decent acquisition from the Buffalo team, maybe Sean Greenhalgh would be worth a look.

I think he is on their protected list.
