ROCK PREPARE FOR MATCH UP WITH TITANS THIS WEEKEND

Toronto – For the second time this season the Toronto Rock host the New York Titans at the Air Canada Centre this weekend on Friday March 14th 2008 at 7:30 p.m. EST.

The Rock remain at 5-3 heading into this weekends’ game, as their previously scheduled road game in Philadelphia last Saturday night was rescheduled for April 6th. The Rock were to face the Philadelphia Wings at the Wachovia Centre on Saturday March 8th at 1:00 p.m. EST, however the game was postponed due to severe weather in Toronto that prevented them from travelling.

The Rock previously defeated the Titans in a 14-10 come from behind win during their first visit to the Air Canada Centre this season on January 26th. The team was led by Blaine Manning who tallied 7 points on 2 goals and 5 assists, followed by both Ryan Benesch with 4 goals and Jamie Taylor with 1 goal and 3 assists.

Manning also leads the Rock for the season with a total of 17 goals and 24 assists heading into this weekends’ matchup. The Titans (4-5) are led by their Captain Casey Powell who has 51 points (21 goals, 30 assists).

Rock Head Coach Glenn Clark says a win this weekend would help the Rock keep pace with other teams in the division for a playoff spot. ‘It’s so tight in the East” Clark said. “For us to be able to get a sixth win is huge.”

The Rock are excited to have Peter Lough and Bob Watson represent the team at the 2008 All-Star game this weekend along with Jim Veltman, who was recently named as the Captain of the East Division team. The 2008 NLL All-Star Game will be played in Edmonton on Sunday March 16th 2008 at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Also this week, defenseman Chris Stewart was brought up from the practice roster to the active roster. As the NLL trade deadline approaches on March 25th the Rock have traded veteran Ian Rubel to the Minnesota Swarm in exchange for a second round 2009 NLL Entry Draft pick.

This weekends’ Rock vs. Titans matchup as well as the NLL All-Star game will be available live on the B2 Network. Fans can access and purchase the webcast by clicking the B2 icon at www.torontorock.com or www.nll.com . The All-Star Skills Competition will also be available on the B2 Network for those fans who purchase the Rush vs. Knighthawks game on Saturday March 15th at 6:00 p.m. EST.
