TORONTO ROCK ROOKIE AND FREE AGENT CAMP OPENS WEDNESDAY

The Toronto Rock will open their Rookie and Free Agent camp on Wednesday, November 17 at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena (ILA) in Six Nations, Ontario.

There is no shortage of interesting storylines among the players who will be attending the camp.  Throughout the camp www.torontorock.com will focus on several of those unique stories.

The battle for main camp spots in net is where a lot of attention will be focused. Unsigned veteran Steve Dietrich comes into camp and will battle a number of proven NLL backstops for a final evaluation spot.

Pat Campbell comes into camp after taking the 2010 season off.  The former Rock goaltender last suited up in the NLL for the Calgary Roughnecks in 2009 and posted a 5-4 record with a 10.39 goals against average and a .766 save percentage.

The man who backstopped Colorado to the 2006 NLL championship will also be at the Rookie and Free Agent Camp.  Gee Nash, widely regarded as one of the top NLL netminders for portions of the last decade, will be vying for a spot at main camp.  Nash will be looking to rebound after a back injury ended his 2009 campaign early.  He has not played in the league since.

Matt Flindell appeared in two games during the 2009 season with the Portland Lumberjax.  Flindell had a 1-1 record with a 11.60 goals against average and a .789 save percentage.  The 23 year-old also saw playoff action in Portland’s 2009 loss to San Jose.
