TORONTO ROCK HOST NEW YORK TITANS THIS WEEKEND

Toronto – The Toronto Rock host the New York Titans this Saturday January 26th, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Air Canada Centre. During the 2007 season, the Rock suffered two close losses (13-10 and 12-11) to the freshman Titans and will be looking to improve their 2-2 record in front of their home crowd this weekend.

The Titans (1-1), who are coming off a loss against the Buffalo Bandits last weekend, bring with them Casey Powell, who sits at fifth in scoring and Pat Maddalena who is tenth. Patrick Merrill, a former Rock player from 2003-2007, will also play his first game at the ACC against his old teammates as a Titan.

Rock forwards Blaine Manning and Josh Sanderson are coming off of two strong performances during the past two road games. Manning who sits atop the NLL points race with 23, collected 3 goals and 3 assists against the Edmonton Rush on January 19th. Sanderson who is second in the points standings had a seven point game against the Rush (1 goal, 6 assists).

Goaltender Bob Watson was honoured as the NLL Defensive Player of the Week (for the week of January 14th) for his performance in the January 19th road game at the Rexall Place against Edmonton. Watson held the Rush to only nine goals and recorded 37 saves in the Rock win.

This weekends’ game will be available live on the B2 Network. The webcast can be purchased online for $7 USD.
