Courtney A

Name: Courtney A

Number of seasons with the Rock: This will be my 8th season dancing for the Rock

Hometown: Mississauga, Ontario

Occupation: Publicity & Promotions Coordinator at Universal Studios

Education: I graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English and Communication Culture and Information Technology.  I'm also a recent graduate of George Brown College, where I completed a post-graduate program in Sport and Event Marketing.

Dance Background: I've trained in a variety of disciplines since the age of 6, danced competitively for many years, and have been on the dance teams for both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Phantoms.

My favourite Toronto Rock memory: There are too many to name just one, so here are my top five: 2003 Championship in Rochester, 2005 Championship in Toronto in front of over 19,000 fans, two words: Joe Badali's, singing "I Think We're Alone Now" with Two for the Show and dancing to "We Built this City" for the Rocks 10th year anniversary.

My pre-game rituals include... going to Jugo Juice in Union Station to get a Summer Strawberry smoothy. The game just wouldn't be the same without it! We always do our dance team cheer in a circle before our first dance to get pumped up.  Then, I practice, practice, practice until the last second before stepping onto the field.

The one word that describes me best:  Dedicated

How I would celebrate if the Rock won the cup this season: Head to Jack Astor's to dance the night away with the girls, Two for the Show and all of our fabulous fans!

Favourite thing about being inside the ACC: Being on the field.  Whether it be for our pre-game practice or dancing during the game, it's always an exciting and special moment to be out there.  Even after all these years I still get butterflies!

The song I like to dance to when no one is watching is: Anything by ABBA... childhood favourites never get old!

My role model: My Mom and Dad and, of course, my favourite girl, Shania Twain

My favourite thing about Toronto: The many outstanding restaurants

I am excited to be part of the 2010 Toronto Rock Dance Team because... we have a great group of fun and talented girls, who are going to Rock the ACC and hopefully help our team bring the Championship back to Toronto.
